Decision-Making
We have all asked these questions to ourselves at some point.
How can I be more effective at my job?
How can I find a job that will give me fulfillment?
How can I communicate so that people appreciate my ideas?
The answers to these questions lie in understanding our ingrained cognitive patterns that determine how we operate.
An individual's unique decision-making pattern can predict the characteristic way one progresses from preliminary consideration to action. For instance, does an individual like to be well prepared before taking action, or are they accustomed to jumping into action and figuring out what they need to know along the way?
A cognitive specialty is formed as one repeatedly spends more or less time in varying cognitive processes, and you will learn about the pros and cons that come with the related emphasis. You will also learn why people with similar patterns like each other more!
Even more, you will also learn the four interactions styles, ranging from very collaborative, to very independent. These interaction styles very based on the cognitive process in which one is operating. If these patterns are not understood, team dynamics can be challenging.
Once you have a grasp of these concepts, you will understand how to optimize your own efficiency, and you will be able to assess the needs of others, like your boss, and fulfill accordingly.
The Next Move LLC is a world leading decision-making consultancy that has created such decision making profiles of 100s of individuals. They work with numerous fortune 500 companies such as Price Waterhouse Coopers (PwC), Wrigley, and the United States government. Their clients span from U.S., through Europe to Asia.
